Internships and Employment Support

Internships

Participating in internships offers valuable opportunities to experience real work, different working styles. Especially for international students, experiencing the unknown world of Japanese corporations will serve as a valuable experience when these students are developing the ability to understand companies and industries, choosing companies, and formulating their own careers.
Thus, the program provides systematic internship training and support for international students who wish to find employment at Japanese companies.

Various Internship Programs to Meet Students' Goals

Short-term programs for first- and second-year undergrads
The program offers support for students to take part in job shadowing (task observation-based internships).

Medium-term internship programs
The program offers support for students to take part in PBL-based or OJT-based medium-term internship programs (for one to two weeks), which are meant to help students understand working at Japanese companies.

Long-term internship programs
The program offers support for long-term internship programs (for one to three months), through which students work as full-time employees and learn through joint research with colleagues.

Multilateral Support Structure to Make Internships Successful

Individual consultations
During the period leading up to an internship, instructors hold a weekly Internship Consultation Cafe to provide detailed support for international students.

Study before and after
Internship participants are obligated to undergo training before their internships and to give a presentation on their results afterward.

Finding corporate partners
Since one of the goals of internships is to provide benefits to not only the international students that take part but also the companies that accept interns, we ask these companies for their cooperation and support for future internships.

For international students, finding employment in Japan coincides with various challenges. This program provides multifaceted support so that international students can get hired by the Japanese companies at which they want to work.
